Legislative Priorities of the Lake County Republican Party, sent to the Florida Legislature for the 2024 Legislative Session.

- Protect Our Elections:
(SB1602, HB671/SB190, HB1101/SB1168, HB135/SB1256, HB359/HB1669, SB1752)
- BAN the outsourcing of voter roll maintenance and management
- Mandatory annual audit and elimination of ineligible registrations on all voter rolls
- Restrict the distribution of mail-in ballots to only disabled, military, and citizens that are out of state
- Reduce the time allowed for early voting to 7 days
- Adopt only paper ballots with verifying features in elections
- Allow ballots to be hand counted publicly at the precincts
- Poll Watcher access to chain of custody throughout the entire balloting process
- Mail-in ballots shall be opened and sorted by eligible electors, not machines
- In every election, randomly choose a number of precincts equal to 5% of all the precincts and hand recount votes. The recount shall be counted by eligible electors selected by the political parties.
- CITIZENSHIP must be verified for all registered voters. We oppose voting by non-citizens in all elections.
- CITIZENSHIP designator on all Driver’s Licenses
- All voting equipment must be certified by someone other than the vendor of the voting equipment
- Secure the Border:
- Pass Texas-style legislation making illegal entry into Florida a state crime
- Florida shall immediately deny all taxpayer-funded services and subsidies to illegal aliens
- Mandate E-Verify for all private and public sector employment
- The Governor must assert his duty under Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 of the US Constitution to declare an invasion
- The Legislature shall direct the Governor to enter into an interstate compact with one or more states to fund and secure the U.S. Border including finishing the U.S. Southern Border Wall
- Remove Joe Biden from Florida Ballots until Trump is Restored to All Other State Ballots
- Stop the Sexualization of Florida’s Children:

- Expand the “Parents’ Rights” Law thru the 12th grade
- Support Risk Avoidance Curriculum that builds student awareness, motivation and skill sets to avoid risky activity by focusing on future goals and dreams by learning the dangers and how to avoid drugs, alcohol, sexual activity, human trafficking, social media manipulation and mental and physical abuse in all Publicly Funded K-12 Florida Schools
- Promulgate disciplinary policies addressing teachers who break the law by introducing pornographic information and materials to children under eighteen years old
- Protect Workers from Woke Corporations:
- Pass legislation banning corporations from requiring employees to use preferred pronouns
- Support Establishment of Gold and Silver Depositories as a First Step to Creating State Legal Tender

- Pass Open-Carry
- Repeal “Red-Flag Laws”
- Repeal three-day waiting period for firearms purchases
- Eliminate Gun-Free zones
- Restore the 2nd Amendment rights to 18-20-year olds
- Fully Funded Universal School Choice:
- Pass fully funded legislation to ensure full funding for home schooled children
- Pass fully funded legislation to ensure full funding for all students, regardless of parent choice for their child’s education
- Ban Taxpayer Funded Lobbying:
- Abolish all forms of taxpayer funded lobbying
- Defend Florida Education:
- BAN & defund all publicly funded DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) programs in colleges, universities, and schools statewide
- Prohibit SEL (Social Emotional Learning) communication to our students including, but not limited to, books, speakers, teachers, etc.
- Allow display of traditional Scriptures in classroom (e.g., Ten Commandments)
- Allow moral teachings from historic texts as literature classes to be added to curriculum
- End Disney’s Corporate Tax Loophole:
- Pass a “combined reporting” law to end Disney’s corporate tax loophole
- Protect Citizens’ Medical Freedom:

- Enact Civil Rights Act on vaccine and immunity as a protected class
- Do not allow employers to discriminate based on vaccine and immunity
- Prohibit vaccine and immunity data from crossing state line or to Federal Government
- End Taxpayer Funded Politicization in Local Government:

- Stop cities like Orlando from creating Black Lives Matter murals on city streets
- Ban cities from flying politicized flags such as the rainbow flag, from city buildings
- Ban the removal of monuments including confederate historical and Veterans’ monuments
- Pass Term Limits for All City and County Commissioners in Florida
